Dual career programme

Talented prospective staff often have partners who will accompany them to the Netherlands and may also wish to advance their careers. The Coming to Delft Service set up a Dual Career Programme that assists partners in building up a new professional and social network and seeking employment, and offers support while they adjust to daily life in a new environment. The programme operates in close cooperation with Leiden University and Erasmus University (Rotterdam).

Who's eligible?

You are eligible for the Dual Career Programme if (1) your partner is a TU Delft staff member who holds a salaried position, and (2) you are considering relocating to Delft or have done so in the past two years, and are looking for work in the Delft area or the Netherlands.

Please contact us directly at Events-ComingtoDelftServices@tudelft.nl. One of our staff members will reach out to you to learn more about you and your job search situation.

If your partner holds a guest position, please reach out to us by sending an email to HRServices@tudelft.nl, to inquire the available options within the Dual Career Programme.

TU Delft has created two categories of people eligible for this programme:

What to expect in Category 1:

We offer a personalised three-step programme intended to suit each individual's unique needs by providing support and training, and creating excitement around your job search.

Please note: The programme offers guidance in finding a job, but offers no guarantee. The participant is and will remain responsible for his/her own career path.

What to expect in Category 2:

We offer a personalised three-step programme intended to suit your needs by providing training and support, and creating excitement around your job search.

Please note: The programme offers guidance in finding a job, but offers no guarantee. The participant is and will remain responsible for his/her own career path.

Language proficiency

As all of our workshops are taught entirely in English, participants must demonstrate a good command of the English language, both spoken and written (comparable with Cambridge level B2). In the job market your chances will increase if one can speak English and/or Dutch.

There are resources available to assist someone wanting to improve his or her Dutch or English language skills in the Delft, Rotterdam and The Hague area:
