Bring financial and controlling expertise and experience to a global insurance network

As a complex global international organization with multiple business units, suppliers and customers AkzoNobel is exposed to a wide range of risks. Our Insurance Department (AIS) has a global mandate to arrange and execute risk transfer of insurable risks and in doing so it makes use of an in-house insurance broker and several captive (internal) insurance companies.

Within this context, your mission in this role is to perform both the financial management and control of these insurance activities, acting as the financial conscience of AIS. In doing so you drive efficiency and explore the financial implications of outsourcing, restructuring and the sale of the (legacy) captives.

Prior insurance knowledge and experience is not necessary. However, supported by your colleagues you must be able to acquire a proactive and rapid understanding of our insurance and captive networks as you interact regularly with insurance specialists and teams around the world.

As such, this is an attractive role for outgoing and ambitious candidates with a sound Finance/Control background who can build networks across a fluid international landscape. Internal candidates could come from AkzoNobel FP&A, or Accounting/Control within one of our business units. External candidates should have experience as a Financial Controller. There is every potential to grow into other financial roles within AkzoNobel.

Is this a challenge that matches your profile as a self-starter with the capacity to explore and take ownership of issues and opportunities? Have you acquired the ability to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex financial information for decision-making? Can you work independently while keeping stakeholders informed as you interact with senior executive management in order to move the organization towards an optimized outcome? Above all, do you have what it takes to make a real difference as you learn and grow within our dynamic, multinational and multicultural business environment?

If you offer all this and more we invite you to apply for the position of
