Our Ethylene and Sulfur Derivatives business unit (BU ESD) is part of our Specialty Chemicals business area. As a major producer of specialty chemicals with leadership positions in many markets, we ensure that industries worldwide are supplied with quality chemical ingredients. We have revenues of 1.2 billion and manufacturing sites in 16 countries.
The BU ESD operates a single, global and sustainable culture of continuous improvement based on Lean Six Sigma (L6S) principles and methodology. In doing so we are achieving stronger business performance by eliminating waste and reducing variation.
Within this context your mission in this role is to lead and manage the global program and the Master Black Belt Managers and Master Black Belts tasked with delivering it. In doing so you set the strategy, control operations and inspire Black Belts to achieve the highest levels of continuous improvement and change. Projects operate across business and functional lines and vary in size, but are typically six to nine months in length with an average benefit in excess of €400k.

L6S Global Program Manager
The role and its responsibilities
This role is based in Arnhem, the Netherlands, but you will travel internationally and domestically for approximately 60% of your time.
One of your core roles is to develop and deploy the strategy for the BU L6S program while controlling the L6S organization and allocating resources effectively. The other core aspect of the role is to oversee the coaching, training and certification of Black Belts, and to assist in Brown Belt and Green Belt certification.
Thus you deliver the annually budgeted target in improvement projects and maintain and stimulate a pipeline of improvements projects. This requires you to collaborate with the ALPS BA team and BU sites, and to help provide L6S expert content for the development and enhancement of the program. You set KPIs and report program results to the BU management.
Further, you serve as the technical expert on the use and training of L6S, and act as the line manager for the Master Black Belt managers and Master Black Belts. You also provide ongoing coaching and support to the Master Black Belts as they coach and train their Black Belts.
At all times you develop tools and models that will enable the BU to learn and continuously improve knowledge, engagement and use of L6S in daily activities. In doing so you provide support and advice on project charters and help to define specific scopes for new projects.
When necessary you conduct high-level, high-priority improvement projects, always demonstrating the continuous improvement of your own skills and knowledge.
On an ongoing basis you support the communications effort around L6S by writing articles, speaking and/or attending conferences and workshops etc. In doing so you challenge the BU to continuously improve the L6S program and help the team to understand, learn and use L6S tools and techniques for current and future purposes.
It is imperative that you embody the highest levels of integrity along with the ability to handle confidential information.
To apply for this position you must possess all the following attributes:
· Master’s degree (MBA preferred) with five years of Black Belt experience; preferably with three years of Master Black Belt experience;
· Certified Continuous Improvement Master (MBB) or equivalent certification;
· High level analytical statistical, and computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint, JMP);
· Demonstrable high performance levels and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;
· Outstanding team manager who can inspire collaboration while leading change and working across different organizational levels, from operational to management;
· Powerful listening, public speaking, presentational and communication skills including fluent written and spoken English.
