Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) has a vacancy in the Cryptology research group for a talented Postdoc, on the subject of Codes and Lattices in Cryptography.
The CWI Cryptology group is looking for a young postdoc researcher interested in both codes and lattices in the context of cryptography.
The CWI Cryptology group is looking for a young postdoc researcher interested in both codes and lattices in the context of cryptography. The goal is to make major progress in both research areas, by comparing them, by transferring techniques back and forth, or even by developing a unifying theory. All angles relevant to cryptography are considered, from construction to cryptanalysis, and from theory to practice.
The successful candidate will be working with Dr. Leo Ducas, within his ERC Starting Grant project ARTICULATE.
Candidates are required to have a completed PhD in the area of computer science or mathematics, and a specialization in cryptology or neighboring area of particular relevance to the project (e.g., coding theory or number theory). Further required qualifications are proven research talent (shown e.g. by articles in leading publication venues or journals), as well as good academic writing and presentation skills (in English). Programming skills may be a plus.
The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Research Centres ("CAO-onderzoeksinstellingen"). The gross monthly salary for an employee on a full time basis, depending on relevant work experience, ranges from € 3,653 to € 4,452, plus holiday allowances and year-end bonus. The appointment will be for a period of two years with a possibility for 1 year extension.
