CUSTOMS and TRADE Operations REPRESENTATIVE

This is the role
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the company maintain and develop its strong expertise within the area of Customs and Trade. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic individual who has gained experience in customs matters and can easily apply this expertise in different setups. Working as part of a small team, this role has a strong focus on ensuring that the company conducts its import and export business within full compliance of applicable legislation and laws supported through the ERP system SAP.

Key responsibilities in the team include, but are not limited to:

Resource person for customs matters for internal and external customers (e.g. third party Logistics Service Providers) including;

· Customs procedures (bonded warehouse, export, import, transit)

· Customs regimes (Inward processing relief, Outward processing relief)

· Customs valuation (for import and export)

· Advising on customs matter aspects of any changes to the Business or Legal structure as a result of Corporate Strategies.

The resource role includes sharing of expertise, training and setup + execution optimization projects.

Resource person for local customs authorities in view of existing licenses, as for example : excise duty license ‘Accijnsgoederenplaats’; customs license for ‘Bijzondere Bestemmingen’ ; customs license for ‘Actieve- en Passieve Veredeling’ ; customs license for ‘Douane Entrepot’.

Resource person waste packaging regulation in different countries amongst which NL, UK, DE and EE.

Auditor role to execute correct monitoring of;

· Correct customs value in im- & export procedures are applied.

· Correct HS code is used

· Correct procedure is applied

· Correct execution EMN procedures/manuals

· Correct execution environmental tax

· Correct incoterm usage

· Correct customs documentation, for example Import and Export Documents.

The auditor role attributes to the compliance framework of the department to monitor proper execution of customs entries on behalf of an Eastman entity.

Resource person for Incoterms usage

The resource role includes sharing of expertise, training and setup + execution optimization projects.

Liaison officer between departments for cross-department issues/projects.

Resource person for any reference to local- and community law, library function with the purpose to increase internal awareness of the Customer Trade impact of company's day-to-day operations.

This is who you are
The Customer Trade Representative must exhibit a compliance biased mindset and have an ability to understand, translate and follow complex external and internal procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of personnel across multiple cultures will be required.

This is what you bring
It is expected that you will be educated to a Bachelor level in the area of International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain or Law or has developed a strong experience in these areas. The successful candidate must be able to communicate fluent in English. Experience with Microsoft Excel and SAP is a distinct advantage.
