Functieomschrijving

The candidate will perform in vitro and in vivo experiments and supervise research assistants. They will work independently and are expected to plan, execute and troubleshoot experiments in a timely manner. They will keep detailed laboratory journals of experiments performed. The candidate will regularly meet with the Principle Investigator (PI) and update on project progress. They will take the initiative to solve problems and suggest solutions while discussing alternative solutions and problems with the PI. They are expected to write project progress reports and other documents needed for the project. They will keep up-to-date with the literature and will write manuscripts, give talks or present posters at departmental meetings and scientific conferences. The candidate is expected to collaborate closely with other team members.

Functie-eisen

  • The candidate should hold a PhD in Immunology or Tumor Immunology and have a strong background and hands-on experience in the area of Tumor immunology, T cell biology and molecular biology.
  • The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with tumor models, T cell immunology experience and tumor immunology background is highly desirable. Experience with mouse models (art.9), next generation sequencing and bioinformatics is highly desirable. Knowledge of vaccine and adjuvant development and testing, would be an advantage.
  • The candidate should also have experience with multicolor flow cytometry, operating flow cytometry instruments, FloJo software analysis, ELISpot assays, animal tumor models and animal work in general.
  • Candidates are expected to collaborate closely with scientists at the Immunology department and within the Erasmus MC, be highly motivated and have a team spirit.
  • The successful candidates must have a Ph.D., publications in leading peer-review journals and presentations at scientific conferences.
  • Candidates are expected to work independently, be highly motivated and have team spirit.

Conditions

We offer a full-time contract of 36 hours per week in an inspiring and challenging work environment with excellent fringe benefits. You will receive a temporary position for 3 years. The gross monthly salary amounts a maximum of € 5,383.00 (scale 11), depending on your level of education and relevant experience and based on a full-time working week of 36 hours. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Medical Centers (CAO UMC).
