The position will be in the Department of Public Administration and Sociology of the Erasmus School of Social and Behavourial Sciences. The assistant professor will contribute to the teaching and research activities of the department. With respect to teaching the focus in the first year will be on teaching within the international bachelor program ‘Management of International Social Challenges’, especially the third year bachelor course ‘managing international organizations’ and on supervising master theses within the Dutch language master program of Public Administration (especially within the program HRM and Change in Public Organizations). Each year the exact teaching obligations will be determined by the program director of the department. With respect to research, focus should be on management issues in an international context – especially with respect to public leadership and human resource management.

PhD in Public Administration, HRM, management sciences, organizational behaviour, sociology or related field;
You have high quality scientific publications in (international) peer-reviewed journals;
You have experience in carrying out scientific research independently;
You have experience in acquiring research grants;
You have excellent didactic skills and relevant teaching experience at academic level;
You are in possession of a Basic Qualification Teaching (BKO) or you are willing to achieve this qualification;
You have excellent written and oral skills both in Dutch and English

Employment starts as soon as possible and will run for a fixed term of three years. The trial period is two months.
Your remuneration will depend on your specific knowledge and experience, and will be calculated on the base of full-time salary ranging between €3.475 and € 5.405 gross per month (38 hour per week; 1.0 fte, salary scale 11-12, Cao NU).
The EUR has attractive employment conditions, which include holiday allowance of 8% of the yearly salary, an end-of-year payment of 8.3% of the yearly salary and 232 hours leave per year (based on a full-time appointment of 38 hours). In case of a working day of 8 hours, you will weekly save 2 hours extra for annual leave (totally 328 hours).
