Finance Specialist

As a Finance Specialist you support, with the Finance Director the Managing Director, for the day to day management of NL Finance. The Finance Specialist will be responsible for the Account payable, Accounts receivable, statutory reporting and financial accounting processes. A major part of the function will be supporting day to day transactions of the business.

  • Work with external, internal auditors, and tax advisors;
  • Work with International Finance and Accounting;
  • Jointly responsible for the maintenance and development of financial systems;
  • Maintaining, developing and documenting key processes and activities;
  • Financial Accounting;
  • Co-ordinates and delivers periodic accounting and reporting;
  • Prepares / oversees the majority of periodic journals, accruals and prepayments;
  • Prepares statutory accounts and information for tax computations;
  • Ensures accuracy of Balance Sheet;
  • Calculates VAT payable and receivable;
  • Assisting in preparing the Financial Statements;
  • Business Planning;
  • Assisting the Finance Director with forecasting and budgeting;
  • Assist the Finance Director in maintaining, developing and implementing effective processes & controls. The Financial Accounting Manager should help provide guidance and support within the business while ensuring good governance through effective controls. They need to act as a role model for other members of the team and seek to be at the heart of the company, delivering fast, accurate information to the business leaders;
  • Together, with the HR Director, taking overall accountability for the monthly payroll as well as ensuring that the journal entries from the payroll system are booked properly in the GL.


  • Master’s degree in finance or accounting;
  • At least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in Finance;
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and in English; able to work positively and collaboratively across the business;
  • Highly numerate and accurate;
  • Mind-set of practical solutions to problems / obstacles;
  • A motivator who leads from the front;
  • Strong organizational skills, managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest level of accuracy;
  • Highly competent with financial systems and processes (particularly Exact and preferable ADP);
  • Self- motivated, accountable and committed;
  • Experience with pay rolling, financial reporting (Local and US GAAP) and accounting (especially around revenue recognition).
