In our group, we aim to understand the molecular and cellular requirements for optimal anti-tumor T cell responses. Your project concerns delineating key signaling pathways for optimal function in T cells and dendritic cells in vivo in mouse models, and matching mouse and human cellular systems in vitro. We collaborate with the ‘clinic’, and we aim to translate immunotherapy-assisted vaccination strategies to application in cancer patients. Techniques include: in vivo mouse work, flow cytometric and functional analyses of immune cells, genome-wide transcriptomic and epigenetic analyses and associated bioinformatics, and molecular biology including CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious PhD student, with a university master’s degree and a background in immunology and cell biology. You have affinity with mouse studies and a motivation to understand biological systems at the molecular level. ‘Article 9’ competence is advantageous. Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement.
You will work 36 hours per week. You will be appointed for the duration of your studies, to be finished with a doctoral thesis, and for a maximum of four years.
