For a new study in the Biomedical Data Sciences department, we are looking for a motivated researcher. This research focuses on the role that time plays in involving patients with cancer in the decision about their own treatment. As a researcher for the Biomedical Data Sciences department, you will carry out the project 'Understanding the Role of Time in Patient Involvement in Cancer Treatment Decision Making, and Selecting Strategies to Resolve Time Constraints'. This study examines the role of time in involving cancer patients in decisions about their treatment, and you will work together with a research assistant and the project leaders. For this project, you will conduct a literature review; recruit and interview your patients, relatives, and caregivers (individually or in focus groups); and recruit participants for an online questionnaire. You will analyze the date from these interviews and questionnaire data, write down your findings in scientific publications, and present your findings at one or more (international) scientific conferences. You receive a budget for training and congress attendance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic new colleague who has a completed scientific education in Communication Sciences, Health Sciences, Medicine, Health Psychology or a related social scientific education. You preferably have a PhD and are equipped with extensive experience in conducting qualitative research. In addition, you are accurate, enterprising, and you possess excellent communication skills. You are able to work independently and also function well in a team. You are able to speak and write in Dutch. Experience in conducting or supporting communication research within oncology is an advantage.
Depending on your background you will be placed in scale Pro (max. €3.196,- per month) or as a postdoc in scale 10 (max. €4.615,- per month).
