QuTech is the leading advanced research centre for Quantum Computing and Quantum Internet, and was founded in 2013 as a joint research centre between Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and The Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). QuTech’s mission is to develop a Quantum Computer and Quantum Internet by combining pioneering scientific research with professional technology development. QuTech addresses these scientific as well as engineering challenges in close collaboration with internationally leading industrial partners.
QuTech is now looking to recruit an experienced Director of Business Development to strengthen its Executive Team. Reporting to TNO, the Director of Business Development will be responsible for inspiring interested parties with the mission and vision of QuTech, articulate a compelling case to potential partners and secure world-class partnerships. S/he will lead on all stages of QuTech’s business development activities, and is responsible for building and maintaining a dynamic portfolio of partnerships. The Director of Business Development will be highly visible, both internally and externally, representing QuTech in an ambassadorial capacity. To this extent, s/he will be responsible for developing a network of all relevant stakeholders in QuTech’s ecosystem.
The Director of Business Development should have inspiring leadership skills and significant management capability, as well as strong commercial acumen and an ability to build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders and potential partners. S/he should have a strong appreciation of science and technology.
The new Director should be a dynamic and creative individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and flair for spotting, creating and seizing opportunities. S/he should be an inspiring leader with a record of building successful relationships and networks at a senior level with a variety of organisations. To the right candidate, the national and international exposure, the complex organisation and the many stakeholders and partners should not be a burden, but a joy. The ideal candidate should be accessible, balanced and driven and possess the natural authority and gravitas to give substance to the position and the many relationships within and outside the organisation.
