The Social Educational Neuroscience group (SENSe) at the Donders Institute is searching for an enthusiastic senior postdoctoral researcher who will, besides developing his/her own line of research, support ongoing research projects within the group. Your own research line should be framed within the key aim of our group: to understand how we learn and which neural mechanisms underlie our capacity to learn. This with a special focus on how we learn from and about others (social learning), learn language (language acquisition), and how learning is optimised in an educational setting (educational neuroscience). Researchers within the group use a wide variety of neurocognitive methods including neuroimaging, electrophysiology and Bayesian modelling. As you will guide others in their research projects we are looking for someone who has a strong background in conducting and analysing fMRI and/or electrophysiological studies (e.g. EEG, MEG). We are looking for someone who not only has the relevant technical skills but is also very social and a true team player (vital for the assistance with the day-by-day managing of the research group).
- a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience or another relevant field;
- excellent social and people skills;
- you are a true team player who likes to help others maximise their potential;
- you should be passionate about understanding human learning and the brain;
- a strong background in neuroimaging (fMRI) and/or electrophysiology (EEG/MEG), and experience with collecting and analysing data;
- excellent oral and writing skills in English;
- ability to work proactively and independently.
Conditionsyou will be appointed as a postdoctoral researcher for an initial period of 1.5 years, after which your performance will be evaluated. If the evaluation is positive, the contract will be extended by 2.5 years
- you will be classified as a Researcher, Level 3 in the Dutch university job ranking system (UFO);
the salary depends on qualifications and experience
