Functieomschrijving

IMDI NeuroControl, a consortium of universities and industry within the Netherlands, has recently started the extensive NeuroCIMT program, which creates an enabling technology platform for systems that integrate precision diagnostics with individualized treatment in patients with neurological diseases and sensory impairments. This is done by targeting the closed loop of sensing, processing and action of the afflicted neural system to optimize, normalize, or replace patient-specific functions.

Within the NeuroCIMT program, there is a vacancy for a postdoc position, who will work on two projects within the program: “Individualizing Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation to improve Motor Learning in Stroke” and “Sensorimotor Integration in the Human Brain”. The postdoc will be appointed at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands, under the supervision of Dr. T. Oostendorp, and will cooperate with Dr. R. Selles of the department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Erasmus MC Rotterdam, Prof. N. Ramsey of the department of Neurosurgery of the Utrecht University Medical Center, and Prof. P. Tiesinga of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour. The postdoc will cooperate with PhD students on building FEM-models of the human head in order to determine the electric field by tDCS and to characterize cortical sources from ECoG recordings.

Functie-eisen

The candidate has a PhD in physics, biomedical technology, electrical engineering or a similar field, and has experience in FEM modelling, preferably in bio-electric applications. You recognise yourself in the Radboud way of working.

Scale 10: max € 58838 gross per year at full employment (incl. vacation bonus and end of year payments)

Additionele informatie

The duration of the position will be 1.5 year at full time appointment. A less than full time appointment, with a corresponding longer duration, is negotiable.
