You will be positioned in the COnsortium for New TReatments of Acute STroke (CONTRAST), for which University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) is the primary partner. The Netherlands Heart foundation funded CONTRAST consortium comprises a total of 18 research centres and over 60 researchers, and focuses on innovative treatments for acute ischemic stroke. Part of the challenges of offering innovative health care pertain to logistics and finances. As lead partners for the work package on logistics and cost-effectiveness, UMCG and FEB/RUG will develop simulation models to address and assess stroke services in the Netherlands. In particular, the candidate will adapt and use the modelling platform foreseen to conduct cost-effectiveness analyses for innovations introduced in this domain of healthcare. This work will be completed in close collaboration with you currently working on logistics.
You will collaborate locally with other healthcare providers, and in the broader context of the consortium to obtain all relevant data, and adapt and populate the simulation model. Once the clinical studies within the consortium have reported on clinical effectiveness you will be responsible for subsequent economic evaluations, and the reporting thereof.
