The Delft Blockchain Lab (DBL) of Delft University of Technology invites applicants for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in any blockchain-related topic in Computer Science in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. DBL takes a holistic approach to developing scalable, robust, reliable, privacy-sensitive and secure blockchain systems. Therefore, both applicants with a strong background in system aspects of blockchain, including but not limited to scalability, efficiency, trust, and attack resilience, and applicants with a strong background in fundamental aspects of blockchain, including but not limited to cryptography for formal security proofs and privacy-preserving authentication, consensus mechanisms, and smart contract validation, are encouraged to apply. We are looking for an exceptional individual who has the potential to become an outstanding research and education leader.
The Delft Blockchain Lab is looking for a talented, ambitious, and enthusiastic individual. His/her responsibilities include:
• Conducting blockchain-related research in any subfield of computer science, including the (co-)supervision of PhD students, collaboration with other academic partners and industry, and acquiring external research funding and (co-)managing externally funded research projects. The successful candidate will become a member of the section in the Department INSY or ST that is most appropriate to his/her research;
• Teaching and developing new education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including the supervision of bachelor’s and master’s students in their graduation projects;
• Transferring knowledge and technology to external parties;
• Performing department and faculty management tasks.
The successful candidate is expected to significantly strengthen the research portfolio in blockchain technology of the Delft Blockchain Lab.

Applicants must have a PhD degree in a blockchain-related subfield of Computer Science, a proven track record of research excellence, the ambition to strengthen and expand the research and teaching of the Delft Blockchain Lab, a team player mentality, and good communication and social skills. Preferably, the successful candidate has experience in teaching at the university level.
Tenure-track Assistant Professor positions at TU Delft are offered for six years. Based on performance indicators agreed upon at the start of the appointment, a decision will be made by the fifth year whether to offer you a permanent faculty position.
TU Delft offers a customisable compensation package, a discount for health insurance and sport memberships, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. The gross salary per month for this position is €3389 to €5656. In addition to your salary, at TU Delft you will receive an annual holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% of your gross monthly salary.
TU Delft sets specific standards for the English competency of the teaching staff, and offers training to improve English competency.
