Our research is focused on the development of new hybrid semiconductor-superconductor platforms to enable the application of Majorana bound states for topological quantum computing.
Cryogenic measurements -both DC transport and high-frequency- are at the core of our qubit activities. We deal with various types of cryogenic test equipment, as well as custom and COTS RF/DC electronic systems and require extensive electrical characterization of our devices. As an engineer in our lab you will work closely with researchers to improve and maintain measurement setups. Your dedication will make sure that research progresses smoothly, and experiments can be conducted at the highest level.
As an electrical test engineer you will be responsible for room temperature and cryogenic electrical characterization of materials and devices. In addition, you will be expected to help maintain the test equipment, analyse measured data to help improve the devices, and work with researchers to streamline the test process.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related field plus 2-3 years relevant work experience or Master’s degree plus 1-2 years relevant work experience;
- Experience with I-V and C-V characterization of semiconductor devices;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
- Strong team mentality and enthusiasm to work in a diverse, international group;
- Experience with programming in Python is a plus;
- Experience with vacuum equipment and/or cryogenic test equipment is a plus.
This is a full-time position for 38 working hours per week (1 FTE). The position is offered for one year initially with the prospect of extension based on good performance. The salary is based on scale 8-10 (dependent on knowledge and experience) with a maximum of € 4166,- gross per month on a fulltime basis.
