Research in the Department of Bionanoscience is aimed at a quantitative, mechanistic understanding of how interactions at the nanoscale lead to biological function at the cellular scale. Current research activities include single-molecule biophysics, nanotechnology, synthetic biology, and cell biology. We welcome applications in the entire range from nanophysics to synthetic and cell biology to complement and strengthen our current activities. We seek group leaders with an outstanding scientific track record, researchers with a creative and collaborative mentality who appreciate scientific and engineering challenges in quantitative life sciences and who through their research, management skills, and teaching qualities can inspire co-workers and students alike. Successful candidates are expected to establish a strong, externally funded research programme and to be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate (Dutch or English) and graduate level (English). We especially welcome applications from female scientists. Applicants should hold a PhD. Dutch language skills are not required.
The maximum salary for an Assistant Professor is € 5513 per month gross, for an Associate Professor, € 6567 and for a Full Professor, €9563. Terms of employment and length of contract vary according to the position.
