This is a 4-year PhD position in control systems for degaussing. You will be working on a topic within the area of power electronics, high current systems and control systems for magnetic field control of large structures. The aim is to design a tailored system for high accurate magnetic field control of large structures with multiple interactions. During the PhD project you may be also be involved in teaching activities and other research activities of the DCE&S group at the TU Delft. The starting date is as soon as possible.
You recently obtained (or are about to obtain) a Master degree in electric engineering, physics or a related field. A strong background in power electronics analysis is required, preferably on high current systems, and in magnetic fields. It is expected that the candidate will expand his knowledge in other fields as a part of the PhD project. In addition, the PhD candidate may benefit from experience in one or more of the following subjects: control systems, power electronics, magnetic fields sensors, magnetic field simulations and electromagnetic compatibility.
