In this project you will take on the exciting challenge of developing novel technologies for dry processing of pharmaceutical powders. Our group has a strong expertise in coating of both micron- and nanosized particles via techniques such as atomic layer deposition. In order to do this, it will be crucial to obtain a good fluidization of the powder. Your task will be to unravel the differences in cohesiveness across different powders, and to develop novel approaches for proper fluidization / processing. This work will be carried out together with a PhD student working on particle coating, and with researchers of AstraZeneca, our partner in this project.
We are looking for highly capable experimentalist with a PhD degree in chemical engineering or a closely related field, who has a strong background in particle technology. Experience with experimental techniques for characterizing particle properties, powder flow behaviour and/or coating is highly desirable. Our candidate is highly motivated, adventurous and creative, and is willing to push boundaries. We expect a good track record in interpretation of experimental results as well as in preparing scientific papers and conference contributions. Our candidate has an excellent command of the English language, with excellent professional communication and team working skills. We expect the candidate to keep good contact with our collaborators in AstraZeneca.
