The post-doctoral researcher will work in a team on a novel energy storage and conversion solution that was recently published by our group (Energy & Environmental Science, DOI: 10.1039/c6ee02923j ). The topic concerns an integrated Ni-Fe battery and electrolyser device that reaches high efficiency, switchability, and energy density using only abundant elements. The research to be performed concerns experimental work for reaching towards an optimal device layout, operating conditions, electrode materials, and electrocatalysis. The post-doc will have the ability to work on experimental approaches, experimental setups, and the conceptual and theoretical framework, which will include modelling efforts as well. The work is performed in a project funded by TTW (part of the Dutch Science Foundation NWO) and in collaboration with a User Committee consisting of several industrial partners.
We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher with a PhD and track-record in a relevant area in electrochemistry or physics. The successful candidate will have a hands-on mentality and will successfully collaborate in a team with PhD students and staff.
