Mood-Sensitive Human-Centered Design
This post-doctoral project is part of a five-year project on ‘design for positive mood regulation’ of the Delft Institute of Positive Design (DIOPD), funded by NWO (a Vici grant awarded to professor Pieter Desmet). Vici is one of the largest grants for individual scientists in The Netherlands. The overall project aims to develop a theory that (a) details the mechanisms that underlie mood experiences in human-design interaction, and (b) explains how design-supported mood regulation can foster human well-being. The post-doctoral project will develop means for ‘mood-sensitive’ design (education). We are looking for an ambitious post-doctoral researcher to join forces with Prof. Desmet and the team of three PhD students in developing an effective mood-cause questionnaire and tools that facilitate a systematic approach to mood-driven design. The post-doctoral position is for 18 months, to start between March or May first, 2021. The work will be executed at the ID StudioLab at the TU Delft. For additional information visit the website here.
This is a full-time position (1 FTE), but it is possible to apply for a part-time position (if a team of part-time post-docs can be formed to combine as a full-time position).
We are looking for:
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. The TU Delft offers a customisable compensation package, a discount on health insurance and sport memberships, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged.
For international applicants we offer the Coming to Delft Service and Partner Career Advice to assist you with your relocation. An International Children's Centre offers childcare and there is an international primary school.
