Closing the material loops of mineral wool at the end of its lifecycle by introducing novel technology and value chain to CDW sorting, analysis, pre-treatment, processing, novel products development, market introduction and commercialization is the main goal of the European H2020 project Wool2Loop (mineral wool waste back to loop with advanced sorting, pre-treatment and alkali activation). We seek a postdoc as a part of Wool2Loop the main aim of this postdoc project is to investigate the long term performance and durability of alkali-activated mineral wool materials. In the research program, fundamental understanding of the degradation mechanisms and the microstructure development of alkali-activated mineral wools under different exposure conditions is needed. Experiments on decay mechanism and long-term performance of alkali-activated mineral wools will be carried out. This research will close collaborate with other partners with Wool2Loop.
