Postdoc Soft Robotics and Haptics

This position explores the design and control of novel soft devices including soft sensors and soft actuators for collaborative human-robot interaction and unobtrusive haptic feedback.
The position is part of the 4TU “Soft Robotics” initiative program that will establish an integrated design approach for soft robotic hardware, control and actuation, inspired by nature. The program fosters collaboration across 4 Dutch universities (TU Delft, TU/e, University of Twente and Wageningen University). Applicants should have a PhD in mechanical engineering, control engineering, applied physics or any related field, and a with a solid publication record.
The successful applicant has experience in one of the relevant areas: biomechanics, soft manufacturing, transducer design, mechatronics, (soft) robotics or haptics.
Above all, we are looking for highly motivated candidate with a natural curiosity, who enjoys hands-on experimental work.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (salary indication: €3491-€4402 per month). The TU Delft offers a customisable compensation package, a discount on health insurance and sport memberships, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged.
