We are looking for a postdoc to extend our activities around visual analytics. In the past, we have developed several algorithms for efficient data visualization and interaction. One specific example is Cytosplore (https://graphics.tudelft.nl/cytosplore/), an interactive tool for the analysis of single cell (i.e., Mass Cytometery/CyToF) data with the goal of identifying differences in the immune system that lead to different reactions to a disease. In this context, we have developed a modular system that enables us to extend the solution. Currently, in the context of the Delft Data Science Initiative at Delft University of Technology, we are collaborating with researchers from various domains, including sport and training, cultural heritage, the biomedical domain, as well as architecture and urban planning. Their data sets are often heterogeneous, large and high-dimensional, which makes it difficult to understand the data and extract useful information. To overcome this challenge, we need domain-specific visual-analytics solutions, as well as solutions to fundamental challenges of data processing and interaction. The candidate will be embedded in a strong support group with permanent researchers and PhD students.
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:
- You have a PhD degree in visualisation/visual analysis.
- You have good communication skills.
- You are creative, ambitious, hardworking and persistent.
- You have a good command of the English language (knowledge of Dutch is not required).
