Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) has a vacancy for a junior lecturer in Economics, Business Economics and/or Finance.
The junior lecturer will become part of the teacher’s group of the Undergraduate School and will be responsible for teaching tasks in the Bachelor Programme. S/he will mainly teach tutorials related to courses in the first and second Bachelor year. In addition, the teacher will become the tutor of a group of freshmen students and be involved in the matching, extracurricular activities and other teaching-related activities.
The junior lecturer will mainly teach courses in the field of finance and accounting, strategy and organization, and some quantitative courses. The exact package of courses will depend on the organizational educational demand and the candidates’ interests and expertise.
The successful candidate is expected to have potential to become an excellent teacher in the field of economics, business economics and/or finance.
The following qualifications are required:
- Holding a Master degree in Economics, Business Economics, Finance or a related discipline;
- Strong affinity with teaching and preferably experience with teaching economic subjects to university students;
- Excellent communication and coordination skills;
- Excellent command of spoken and written English;
- Acquaintance with the U.S.E. educational system and the courses taught in U.S.E.’s bachelor programme.

ArbeidsvoorwaardenU.S.E. offers a temporary appointment (1.0 FTE) for up to 4 years in an international working environment. The salary - depending on relevant experience since you obtained your Master degree - ranges from €2,709 to €4,274 (scale 10 Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 % per year. A favorable tax regime may apply for foreign applicants.
