You will be responsible for co-teaching the course ‘Introduction to Psychology’ at UCU (UCSSCPSY11) in the Spring term 2019 (28-01-2019 until 17-05-2019). You will teach approximately half of the course while the permanent lecturer on this course,Dr. Robert Renes, will teach the other half. Which material and tasks are assigned to you depends on your expertise. Responsibilities include lecturing, leading class discussions, writing and grading exams, and assessing student presentations and written work. At UCU, all communication is in English.
In the near future we will be looking for someone with expertise in Clinical and/or Developmental Psychology. Depending on your expertise and availability, the appointment in the coming year could therefore be extended to include more teaching (up to 0.4 FTE). In addition to this, UCU lecturers can apply for a position as tutor (up to 0.3 FTE). Teacher-tutors at UCU belong to our tenured academic staff and are eligible for research time.
The Psychology Lecturer is expected to have completed a PhD in Psychology, or to be close to completing, and:
- has experience in teaching Psychology at University level;
- has affinity with Liberal Arts and Sciences education;
- is fluent in English (spoken and written);
- is well organized and flexible.
UCU offers an appointment of 0.3 FTE. This position is initially offered for half a year. The salary is based on qualifications and experience and will be within the range of €2,640 and €4,166 (salary scale 10 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for a full-time employment. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 % per year. We offer a pension scheme, (partly paid) parental leave, collective insurance schemes and flexible employment conditions (multiple choice model). The UCU campus is conveniently located in a residential area of Utrecht between the city centre campus and the “Uithof” campus of Utrecht University. Its excellent facilities provide good working conditions.
