As postdoc you will work within a large collaborative project together with partners at the University of Copenhagen (several departments), ARLA, Unilever and Bruker. The project entails studying sarcopenia (muscle-loss) in the elderly population. Samples have been collected in a cohort study which are analysed with NMR and instrumental techniques to measure the gut-microbiome. Your task is twofold:
- develop calibration models to predict lipoprotein distributions from the NMR spectra and
- relate the lipoprotein distribution to the gut-microbiome. In both cases this will be done with advanced multivariate data analysis techniques in close collaboration with all the partners.
You should have a PhD degree in a relevant field (for example, (bio-) statistics, systems biology, bioinformatics or chemometrics) and you are expected to have a solid background in applying multivariate data analysis techniques to a variety of biological or chemical data.
The appointment will be on a temporary basis for a period of 1 year and after satisfactory evaluation it will be extended with one more year to a total duration of 2 years.
Based on a full-time appointment (38 hours per week) the gross monthly salary in the first year will be maximal €3475 (scale 10-7). The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable. There are also secondary benefits, such as an 8% holiday allowance per year and an end of year allowance of 8.3%.
