Additional information

Title: Collective intelligence in teams

Project description

Most relevant work in organizations is performed in team settings. The more responsibility that is assigned to teams, the more important it is that teams collectively achieve high levels of intelligence. Collective intelligence is the phenomena when 2+2=5, or when teams as a whole achieve levels of performance that cannot be achieved by any of its individual composing members. In this project, we aim to study in an experimental fashion antecedents (e.g. structural configurations such as multiple-team membership) and processes leading to collective intelligent teams. This position is part of a larger project that involves also the development of an on-line platform. This platform is meant to facilitate the design and execution of the studies. The experimental work will be conducted at Tilburg University, Department of Organization Studies. The PhD candidate will be supervised by dr. Nicoleta Meslec and Prof. dr. Roger Leenders.
