We are looking for data science jack-of-all-trades candidates who enjoy diversity in multi-disciplinary research projects, teaching assignments and who like to work at the crossroads of entrepreneurship and academia. Our adagio is “learning by doing” through short-cyclic experimental science with measurable effects.
A PhD, PDEng or equivalent degree is requested. In exceptional cases, if you do not have a PhD yet, but are willing to work on a PhD thesis and have graduated with excellent marks, we may also discuss dual appointments, combing teaching/researching with your PhD project.
In addition, successful candidates have a doctoral degree in a relevant technical, social science, or interdisciplinary field such as in statistics, AI, data science, computer science, information management, data engineering or econometrics.
The Data Science postdoc will have teaching and research interests and experience in at least one of the following core areas:
A record of superior academic or professional performance; the ability to be self-directed with broadly-defined limits on assignments; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse people in a highly multidisciplinary environment.
The position involves 32-40 working hours per week. In accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities, the position is classified in salary scale 11 (max 66K) for doctorate candidates. Depending on the knowledge and experience of the employee. We offer a two year position with an evaluation after one year to decide for a ‘go’ of the second year.
The starting date for the position is preferably October 1.
