We're seeking a talented postdoc candidate to lead groundbreaking research in low-loss silicon nitride integrated photonics for security applications. Dive into the world of nanofabrication in UT's cutting-edge Nanolab, where you'll craft waveguides, analyze results, and showcase proof-of-principle demonstrations in the captivating realm of quantum optics.

Your home base? The Adaptive Quantum Optics (AQO) chair at the prestigious MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology, nestled within the vibrant University of Twente. Under the guidance of Prof. Pepijn Pinkse, you'll be part of a collaborative environment, closely working with colleagues in the integrated photonics program.


  • You have a PhD degree in Physics and a solid background in integrated photonics, (quantum) optics.
  • You have a good team spirit and like to work in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment.
  • You have a creative mindset and excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • An excellent command of English.
  • You are a teamplayer.


  • A full-time position for two years, and the flexibility to work (partially) from home.
  • Your salary and associated conditions are in accordance with the collective labour agreement for Dutch universities (CAO-NU).
  • You will receive a gross monthly salary ranging from € 3.877,- to a maximum of € 5.090,-.
  • There are excellent benefits including a holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, and a solid pension scheme.
  • A minimum of 232 leave hours in case of full-time employment based on a formal workweek of 38 hours. A full-time employment in practice means 40 hours a week, therefore resulting in 96 extra leave hours on an annual basis.
