Vacancy
As a Thermoacoustic Engineer at BlueHeart Energy, you are responsible for designing and optimizing thermoacoustic systems and components for energy-efficient applications. You will develop and test innovative technologies for sound-to-heat conversion, ensuring they perform efficiently under various conditions. Through simulations and experiments, you will analyze system behavior, solve problems, and improve performance.
Your main tasks include system modeling, experimental testing and validation, data analysis, system integration, collaboration with various teams, and maintaining documentation. You will closely collaborate with colleagues from the mechanical and testing departments to ensure the systems integrate seamlessly into the larger energy system. Ultimately, your focus will be on enhancing the sustainability and efficiency of energy conversion technologies.
In this role, you will be part of the R&D department, working with multidisciplinary teams. You will collaborate with mechanical engineers, test engineers, and product owners. The team is diverse, with each member bringing their own expertise, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment. This teamwork is essential for ensuring the optimal performance and seamless integration of energy designs and thermoacoustic components.
“If you enjoy collaborating with multiple teams within the company and find it challenging to enhance sustainability in energy conversion technologies, then this is the job for you.”
Firsthand experience
“You have identified a technical issue in a thermoacoustic system, and you need to solve it. What do you do?”
You begin by analyzing the system's performance data to identify the source of the issue. Then, you discuss the problem with your immediate team members, collaborating to brainstorm potential causes such as component malfunctions, incorrect tuning, or environmental factors impacting performance. If needed, you consult other departments, such as engineering or testing, for additional insights. Next, you perform a physical inspection of the system to ensure that all components are functioning as expected. Once the root cause of the problem is identified, you make the necessary adjustments to the system. All changes are thoroughly documented and tracked using internal projectmanagement tools to ensure proper accountability. Finally, you conduct a series of tests to verify that the system is operating at optimal performance.

Bedrijfsomschrijving
BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 to apply thermoacoustics as a technology in heat pumps and other applications as a replacement of compression technology. Thermoacoustics is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry. Over the past seven years, BHE has developed a thermoacoustic engine to power heat pumps and airco systems in residential buildings and other (industrial) applications. This so called 'Blue Heart' of a heat pump is sold to manufacturers. We are continuous improving the 'Blue Heart' with new developed and optimizations. As well we will develop different products over time. Besides this, we will set up our production facility, strengthen the relationships with our customers (OEM's and ODM's) and set up pilotprojects in houses and other (industrial) applications and monitor these.
