EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Chief executive Officer / Executive board member

The responsibilities of the Executive Director include the following:

Strategy & Leadership

• You lead the development and implementation of the long-term strategy.

• You ensure the translation into annual plans and the corresponding budget.

• You evaluate the policies implemented and provide periodic reports to the Board.

• You ensure the day-to-day management of the small but committed team.

• You represent the organization at external and internal events.

Fundraising

• You maintain relationships with existing and potential donors such as private individuals, funds & foundations, companies, and institutional partners.

• You lead the development and execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives.

• You ensure transparent reporting and responsible management of donations.

Board & Compliance

• You work closely with the Board.

• You ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• You oversee audits and prepare annual reports and impact analyses.

Financial & Operational Management

• You monitor the budget, ensure financial planning and resource allocation.

• You ensure efficient business operations, including personnel policy, quality policy, digitalization and administration.

Functie-eisen

As Executive Director, you endorse the mission of Wereld Dorpen voor Kinderen and the Sisters of Mary. You have an affinity with development cooperation and charitable causes. You can communicate persuasively and effectively at various levels.

You possess at least the following knowledge and experience:

• University-level working and thinking skills.

• At least 10 years of relevant work experience, of which 3 years in a leadership position.

• Experience with fundraising, both from private individuals and institutional fundraising.

• Up-to-date and relevant knowledge and skills to implement and use digital and marketing tools to boost fundraising.

Additionally, you recognize yourself in the following personal characteristics:

• You have a clear vision of fundraising and organizational development.

• You have a proactive and outgoing attitude to find and develop new avenues.

• You are aware of relevant societal developments and laws and regulations.

• You have a proactive attitude and a hands-on mentality.

• You have good communication skills in both Dutch and English.

For over 35 years, Wereld Dorpen voor Kinderen has been a relief organization for children, helping children escape from a life of poverty. We believe that a better world begins with good education. Every child should be able to learn and develop, should be able to dream, and has the right to a bright future. Even if you grow up in extreme poverty.

From our office in Amsterdam, we raise funds to finance educational programs and collaborate with the Sisters of Mary. Through placement in our World Villages and equipped with the right skills children from the Sisters of Mary programs are able to secure local jobs when they finish school. They become productive and independent members of society able to help their parents and generations of their families. In the World Villages, the children receive safe shelter, loving care, and a good education. They learn a trade that will enable them to get a good job later and provide for their own livelihood. Arbeidsvoorwaarden

Meer informatie

A position as Executive Director of Wereld Dorpen voor Kinderen means contributing to a wonderful social objective.

And furthermore:

• An employment contract for 32 – 40 hours per week for a period of twelve (12) months with the intention of extension.

• A monthly salary of maximum €6.400 (depending on knowledge and experience).

• An office in a beautiful location in Amsterdam.

• Possibility of working partially from home.

• Travel allowance (for travel by public transport).

• A pension contribution (10% of the gross salary).
