Are you interested in conducting interdisciplinary research in AI and medical image analysis as well as in educating the next generation of AI for health experts? The Informatics Institute (IvI) of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) is hiring an Assistant professor in AI and Health with 50% teaching load for their qurAI group, an interfaculty group embedded in the Faculties of Medicine (Department of Biomedical Engineering and Physics - BMEP) and Science/Institute of Informatics -IvI of the University of Amsterdam.
The application of AI to the healthcare domain requires affinity for multidisciplinary research, capability to apply AI techniques and insights to health problems. You will be involved in qurAI research and work closely together with other members of the team, including clinical researchers in Amsterdam UMC. Besides you will contribute to education in the area of Health and AI at both Bachelor and Master level.
This will be possible as your time will be equally divided between education and research. We expect you to contribute to our vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs in information studies, data science and artificial intelligence.

What do we require of you?
We offer a temporary employment contract for 38 hours per week for 18 months. You will be offered a permanent position after a positive assessment and evaluation.
The starting salary will be in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel, and depending on experience and qualifications. It will range from a minimum of €3,821 gross per month up to a maximum of €5,943 gross per month (salary scale 11-12) based on full-time employment (38 hours).
This is exclusive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus. A favourable tax agreement, the ‘30% ruling’, may apply to non-Dutch applicants. The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities (CLA) is applicable.
