The Yantai campus
The FSE is currently preparing for the very challenging undertaking of offering and expanding some of its teaching and research at the University of Groningen Yantai (UGY) in China. The UGY is a newly established university; degree programmes and research activities will start here in 2019. The first FSE degree programmes to be offered at the UGY are:
• BSc Chemistry
• BSc Mathematics
• BSc Industrial Engineering and Management
• BSc Life Science and Technology
• MSc Chemical Engineering.
The Faculty is looking for project leaders education (1.8 fte) to join its UGY programme team. Their tasks focus on preparing and offering degree programmes at the UGY. The project leaders will also be responsible for drafting and executing a project plan so that the degree programmes can be offered in China on time and at the required level, together with the research activities.
The FSE programme team performs its tasks in close cooperation with stakeholders both within and outside the Faculty, in the Netherlands and in China . The team consists of 6 to 8 people. The stakeholders in the Netherlands include the Faculty Board, the Faculty degree programmes, research institutes and services, and the central programme organization of the UG. In China, the stakeholders are our academic partner, the China Agricultural University, the city of Yantai, the Shandong province, local businesses and other partners.
A crucial element of the FSE programme is attracting and recruiting highly-qualified staff, both at the UGY in China and the UG in the Netherlands, for the degree programmes and research in the first few years. The FSE requires its UGY researchers to conduct high-quality research as well as fulfil teaching responsibilities.
