Team Applied Spatial Research is looking for an enthusiastic candidate to strengthen the research and project management capacities in the team. You show ambition, like to start up new initiatives and get energy from working in teams and achieving results. In this position you will manage and participate in research projects with a geo-ICT component. You will work together with other researchers and software developers in our team and other teams within the WUR but also from other organisations, national and international. Supporting our broad and interdisciplinary research, you will work on a diversity of subjects in the domains nature, agriculture and the living environment.
Your tasks will cover all aspects of managing research projects, including acquisition and publishing the results. The projects have generally an applied character and intend to apply complex scientific techniques and methods to arrive at a fit for use solution.
An interest in system and concept integration is key and you will need to function as a knowledge broker bringing together experts and stakeholders from policy to practice and stimulate collaboration. In all our projects the user plays a central role in order to ensure a solution that fits. Current research projects relate to data standardisation, application development, digital twins and data quality.
- At minimum a master, but preferably a PhD in Geo-ICT or similar;
- Work experience as a researcher;
- The enthusiasm to further develop your knowledge and experience in geo-ICT
and project leadership.
- Enjoyment of working in teams and lead project teams.
- Experience with acquisition of new projects.
- Experience in scientific publishing
- Proficiency in English and preferably in Dutch
- A team player who can also work independently and take responsibility;
- The ability to perform in a challenging and dynamic environment.
- A creative thinker and initiator with the energy to move project teams into the right direction in a positive and constructive way.
- Excellent communication skills.
