The appointment will be for a period of 24 months with the possibility for extension to a permanent contract contingent on a satisfactory performance for one of the positions. Based on a full-time appointment the gross monthly salary will be between €3,475 and €5,405 for the assistant professor and between €4,815 and €5,861 for the associate professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities is applicable.

The Department of Psychology is part of the Faculty of the Social and Behavioral Sciences, serving 2300 students, and offering a bachelor program, a broad variety of Master tracks (e.g., Behavioral Data Science, Brain and Cognition in Society, Sport and Performance Psychology, Training & Development, Social Influence, Consultancy & Organisational Development, Human Resource & Career Management), and a Research Master program. Research and teaching is organized in 6 program groups: Brain and Cognition, Developmental Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Psychological Methods, Social Psychology, and Work and Organisational (W&O) Psychology. The Psychology Research Institute has one of the largest laboratory facilities in the country, including eye tracking-, fMRI-, and EEG- equipment, and a variety of physiological labs and software packages. The Psychology department ranks 17th on the QS World University Rankings 2017, which is the highest rank among the psychology departments in continental Europe.

Another important aim is to provide excellent training for students, preparing them for the professions related to various domains in work and organisational psychology. The W&O psychology group provides a bachelor specialisation, a master program, and is involved in the Psychology Research Master program.
From the year 2018-2019 on the W&O psychology group offers four specialized master tracks:
Each year about 60 to 90 students choose the bachelor specialisation in W&O psychology, and about 60 to 70 students enroll in the W&O psychology master programs. Most courses are taught in English.
The W&O Psychology group currently consists of 20 assistant professors, associate professors, and lecturers, and 5 PhD candidates. The group has two structural Full Professor positions.
