Functieomschrijving

The Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) is the research institute for the Communication Science department at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. We are seeking a PhD candidate with a background in communication science to join us in our lab to work on explainable AI in news and entertainment.

What will you be doing?

You will conduct research on explainable AI in the Digital Communication Methods Lab using surveys and experiments. The project’s main research question is: how can we achieve explainable AI that promotes different users’ digital competence (i.e., defined as improved digital skills and awareness) in different contexts (news and entertainment)? The PhD candidate will work on an article-based PhD dissertation and contribute to the overall research activities of the lab.
